Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Originated in Europe (possibly Ireland) and has been grown in England and Western Europe for several years.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2005 Yearbook by Carolyn Male of Salem, New York (NY MA C), plants labeled as Splash of Cream from Greg Speichert, Indiana. Mr. Speichert received seeds from Ed Rasmussen, who got it from France.
  • Carolyn Male researched this tomato's origins, and discovered that the French person had received seeds named 'Variegated' but had changed the name to Splash of Cream, so the real name should be Variegated.
